Unlock Your Data's Context, Faster: Introducing Our V2 Enrichment Service

The data you collect from your applications is powerful. But that data becomes invaluable when you connect it to your internal business context.

This is exactly what Datazoom's Enrichment Service is for. It appends crucial data from your own backend systems—like a CMS, ad manager, CRM, or EPG (Electronic Program Guide)—directly onto your data streams in real time. This means no more costly, slow post-processing to join data; you get a complete, contextualized dataset right out of the box.

Today, we're excited to announce a massive upgrade: our new V2 Enrichment Service. It's rebuilt from the ground up for one primary purpose: to make data experimentation faster and more flexible.

The Problem with "Waiting for Tomorrow"

In the past, testing a new enrichment idea—like adding a new field from your EPG or testing a different ad metadata mapping—often required waiting for a daily scheduler to run. This could mean a 12- to 24-hour delay between having an idea and seeing the results. Innovation shouldn't have to wait a day.

What's New in V2: Speed and Sandboxing

Our V2 Enrichment Service introduces a new, highly configurable architecture designed to give your engineering teams the power to iterate on the fly.

Here are the key benefits:

  • Test in Minutes, Not Days: The biggest bottleneck for experimentation is gone. The V2 service allows you to generate new, custom enrichment setting files using an offline script and load them on demand. This removes the 12-24 hour wait for the JobScheduler. You can now concept, test, and validate a new enrichment strategy in a single afternoon.

  • Safe, Sandboxed Experimentation: The new service is designed for parallel, non-disruptive testing. You can now easily spin up an experimental version of your enricher with its own custom settings. More importantly, you can configure the message destination for this test.

  • How it Works: A Simple Example

Want to test a new EPG-to-metadata mapping?

    • Launch an experimental enricher with your new custom settings file.

    • Configure its output destination to go directly to a BigQuery table (or another analysis tool).

    • Your live, production data (e.g., your player_events topic) is never touched.

    • You can analyze the results of your test in BQ at your leisure, with zero risk to your production pipeline.

This new service transforms data enrichment from a static configuration to a dynamic, iterative part of your data strategy. It's a powerful and secure way to innovate, giving you the flexibility to add new layers of context to your data, faster than ever.
