Creating a Connector

Transcription

Thanks for joining us!

In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to create a Datazoom Connector. Along with Collectors, Connectors form the building blocks for our data control platform.

Connectors are places where you wish to send data that has been collected. For the purposes of this tutorial, a Connector will be a data measurement and analytics tool.

Connectors can also deposit your data into a data warehouse, quality of experience tool, behavioral analytics tool, or any other location that you use to store and review data in real-time or where you perform any post-processing.

Let us know if you don’t see your particular destination on the list. Chances are we’re planning to add it soon. Like setting up a Collector, follow the same simple method to add a Connector, by clicking the Plus icons.

Once you have selected your Connector you will be presented with a simple configuration screen. In this case, since we selected New Relic Insights as our destination, to complete the configuration, we’ll need to add your Account ID and Insert Key.

These values are found within the New Relic Insights product.

Once you’ve added the required information, Datazoom will run a quick check to see if we can communicate with the destination.

A success message will appear if we are able to complete the transaction. Specific to New Relic, we’ll want to check the “Use New Relic Video Monitoring Data” model as that will ensure Datazoom conforms captured data to an established data model.

Feel free to edit the default name then click Save Changes. That’s it. You’re well on your way to becoming a master of our platform.

In our next video, we’ll literally tie Collectors and Connectors together by setting up Data Pipe. We’ll cover simple set-ups first, then more advanced set-ups.

Use Datazoom to capture, classify, and connect data from across your video technology stack to drive analysis and automation strategies that empower your people, products, and processes.
